Falling down and skinning your knee... and jumping back up to win the race!

The title of this blog sums up my last two weeks. No I didn't really fall or skin my knee, but I sure felt like it after my week 3 weigh in.
I have been really busy with work, school, and so on and haven't been faithful to my blogging.

Weigh ins...
Week 2- I jumped on the scale at my ww meeting and BOOM! I lost 4 lbs.  Super stoked.  That makes week 1 -8.2 lbs and week 2 -4 lbs.  Total of 12.2.  Not bad for my first few weeks.
Week- 3- I jumped on the scale at my ww meeting and WHAT??? I only lost .6.  Now I know a loss is a loss, but that one kind of hurt.  I had earned lots of great activity points.  What on earth? Oh yeah, tracking. UMM I slacked a little on my food tracking.  I sabotaged myself.  I would track my meals, but not the random bites of things.  Who knew it could make such a difference? LOL  So this week I am committed to tracking EVERYTHING that touches my lips.

It's also been quite the emotional two weeks.  My cousin passed away at the young age of 51 (just 3 days before her birthday) of cancer.  She had suffered nearly the last 9 months of her life and now she's walking with Jesus.  She is whole and healed and having a great time.  It still doesn't totally fill the void though for those who were left here on earth.  While dealing with all of that and my parents being out of town (I'm so not a loner after all LOL), a dear family friend also passed away, at the young age of 66.  Ron had been sick for some time with different lung ailments, but it didn't soften the blow of his death.  I've known him since I was 10 and first moved here to Canyon.  He owned the little store down the road and my friends, niece Ashley, and I would make millions of trips a day in the summer time.  I'm pretty sure we kept his store running with our purchases of bbq sandwiches (homemade by Ron), candy, cokes, and slurpees.  Dear Ron will be missed.

Now onto happier things.  This week is spring break for me and for Kirstyn, Tori, and Cody.  I plan on enjoying the nice weather with them and spending some good quality family time.  In fact Kirstyn and I just got back from Zumba at my church. LOL  I'm ready for a nap now, but I think I will head outside with my flip flops on and join the family.

Here is to getting back up and winning the race!  This week I will have great numbers on that scale. I will not be defined by it nor will I take it so personal.  I know now that I just have to get up, dust myself off, and sprint to the finish.
